Hult International Business School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hult International Business School in Cambridge, MA is a small privately owned school which specializes in a one-year MBA degree course and has a very high percentage of international students.
Hult is a top-ranked one year MBA program in the U.S. It is the only one year MBA program to get into Fortune's Best 50 Business Schools for Hiring.
Total tuition fees are significantly less than that of many US business schools because the Hult MBA course is nominally only of 1 year duration. In contrast, US business schools normally only offer a 2 year or 18 month MBA course. Also, by cramming the course into one year, Hult students save the cost of 6-12 months accommodation; food, drink, travel, etc. Since the career break is shorter, students are back in the job market sooner and potential sponsors are more accommodating.
Naturally, the course has to be intense so that students learn as much as those undertaking longer courses. Students undertake projects from 9am to 5pm for five days a week. Evenings and weekends are also fairly hectic preparing for classes, but most students manage to find time for other pursuits. Current cohorts include the August 06 class and the December 06 class, each with a distinctive personality and set of unique skills.
In 2005 The Economist Intelligence Unit ranked the Hult International Business School as 22nd in the world and 14th in the US.
Housed in a recently constructed building, the school is close to both Harvard and MIT. The address is as follows: Hult International Business School, 1 Education Street, Cambridge, Boston, MA, 02141 USA
It was founded as the Arthur D. Little School of Management in 1964, as an extension of the ADL management consultancy (started in 1886, the oldest in the world). EF Education took over ADLSOM in 1997 and renamed the school in 2003, in honour of benefactor Bertil Hult. Up until recently, the school was on the Boston College campus.
