[edit] History

The area known today as Hulett's Landing was granted to a Revolutionary War veteran named Colonel Hulett by the United States Continental Congress. Hulett farmed the land, which was eventually inherited by Philander Hulett. It was Philander Hulett who established the famous Hulett's House hotel there around 1900. It remained a popular vacation destination in what had now become known as Hulett's Landing until its destruction in 1959. Remnants of the old hotel can still be found scattered about in many of the cottages that remain there today.
