Hugh Joseph Tayfield (30 January 1929 in Durban, South Africa - 24 February 1994, Hillcrest, South Africa) was a cricketer. He played 37 Test matches for South Africa from 1949 to 1960 and he was one of the best bowlers of that time. He was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1956.
