Hubertus Hoffmann

Hubertus Hoffmann is a German journalist, media manager and investor. Currently he is one of the founding partners of General Capital Group, a German based investment company. Hoffmann was born March 20th, 1955 in Goettingen, Germany. He served with the German army (and is reserve officer), studied Law, History and Political Science at the University of Bonn and is a lawyer with a PhD in Political Science. Working for the nightly news at ZDF, Europe´s largest television station from 1988 to 1990, he then became CEO of the radio business of the Georg von Holtzbrink publishing group, and later Managing Director for New Media in the Burda Publishing Group in Munich, building up 15 companies for new media in Europe from 1993 to 1995.

His entrepreneurial track record includes New Media Digital GmbH (1996,)MBI/MBO, Loewe Opta GmbH (1996) and Internet Media House AG (1998-2001). In 2005 he founded General Capital Group which presently is invested in Volkswagen AG (4,90%), ThyssenKrupp AG (4,70%), Lanxess AG (4,30%), BASF AG (2,10%) and Infineon Technologies AG (0,80%).
Hoffmann is founder and president of the New York-based World Security Network Foundation and author of a book about his mentor Fritz Kraemer ("On Excellence. Missionary, Mentor and Pentagon Strategist", 2004) with contributions from Alexander Haig, Henry Kissinger and Donald Rumsfeld.
