Hub City Stompers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hub City Stompers are a ska/reggae/oi band based out of New Brunswick, NJ, formed in the summer of 2002. The line-up has changed since the band's inception and has included ex-members of bands such as Inspecter 7, Professor Plum, The Dehumanized, Tri State Conspiracy, The Schematics, Foil, and Gotham City Swing and other New York/New Jersey bands.
Embracing various styles and eras from the 60's through the 80's, and adding reggae, jazz, punk and even classical influences, they manage to avoid a typical, formulaic ska sound and steer clear of cliche poppy ska lyrics.
The band has gained notoriety in the general skinhead community around the United States and have performed with bands such as The Toasters, King Django, Big D And The Kids Table, Awful Waffle, Bigger Thomas, The Wretched Ones, Niblick Henbane, Eastern Standard Time, and Streetlight Manifesto.
