Hub City (comics)

Hub City is a fictional city in the DC Comics universe. Originally created for use in Charlton Comics stories, it is best known as being the home of the Question. It has been identified as locating in southern Illinois, southeast of St. Louis and north of Cairo, Illinois, most recently in the DC Universe novel Helltown, written by Dennis O'Neil.

For a while it was one of the worst cities in America. Crime was everywhere. Less then ten cops were considered honest, the firefighters went out armed, the mayor faced numerous assassination attempts and every single social service eventually broke down.

In the Smallville episode "Ryan", Clark runs to Hub City, the location of a "Dr. Burton", who has developed a new serum to treat Ryan's brain tumor.
