[edit] Vancouver East or East Vancouver?
Welcome. I am sorry that I had to revert your edits to Vancouver East. This article relates to the federal electoral district only. It is not a general article about East Vancouver. If you have any questions, leave a message on my talk page. The information you provided may fit into Downtown Eastside, or another article about Vancouver neighbourhoods. Regards, Ground Zero | t 18:05, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Vancouver East refers only to the electoral district, not to the East Vancouver neighbourhood. The boundaries of Vancouver East change every ten years or so when federal ridings are redistributed to reflect population changes. I think, perhaps, you should start a new article called East Vancouver for information about the neighbourhood. If you have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page. Regards, Ground Zero | t 20:47, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Hu Gadarn: you can review an older version of any article by clicking on the "History" tab a the top of the page. So there you can read the article as you last edited it. Another thing that I'd like to point out is that normally Wikipedians communicate by leaving messages on people's talk pages (like I'm doing now), rather than by e-mail. E-mail is only used when Wikipedians want to discuss things not related to Wikipedia, or there is some other reason for not wanting to make their comments public. (I had to learn that lesson the same way: when I first joined, I e-mailed someone, and was told what I'm telling you know.) With any powerful tool, like Wikipedia, there is a lot to learn. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. I hope you enjoy yourself here. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a note on my talk page. Regards, Ground Zero | t 19:25, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I have now started and am working on an article on "East Vancouver" (and not Van. East). Hu Gadarn 15:23, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Manitoba (disambiguation)
Caribou has been added to the page tons of times, and it has been removed the same number of times. There seems to be someone who really doesn't want Caribou mentioned on that page. Do you have any idea why? Qutezuce 04:41, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Maybe someone (associated with/ who supports) the guy who threatened to sue "Caribou" for using the name? Who knows? I'll keep checking in on the page. Hu Gadarn 05:03, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- When you want to revert a page back to a previous version you many find it helpful to do the following: goto the history of the article in question, then click on the date of the last good version that you want to revert to, then click "edit this page", mark the edit summary "rv" or something similar, and then save the page. Qutezuce 05:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm ... I think that I may find this information useful. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 06:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the heads up, man. Whoever this guy is he/she is very annoying.--Lairor 20:50, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. I bet s/he didn't play well with others as a child.Hu Gadarn 21:24, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. It seems ridiculous to continuously go into an article and remove valid additions. They were also removing the link markup that I placed on their OWN entries... obviously someone needs more to do with their time. The only suggestion I could make is to have the page protected from non-registered users' edits, but I don't know if an admin will go for it. Here's the link to that policy: Wikipedia:Protection policy. Cheers! --Alan 02:22, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] East Vancouver map
Well, those maps were based on the official Vancouver neighbourhood maps found on the city's website. I don't think they have a clear definition of which neighbourhoods are part of "East Vancouver," so creating one at this point may be tricky as it may be based on original research (which, of course, is a no-no). I'd love to try to make one if someone finds a good source for it.
Also, I didn't understand your second post to my talkpage. I don't remember "vandalizing" a page like that, nor do I remember editing it. Can you please jog my memory? I also don't remember using all caps in anything I do either. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 16:54, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Note: I never edited the Haryana article. Am I missing something here? -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 16:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh okay. I saw what happened [1]. I reverted your edit not because it's not accurate or anything like that. The reason for it was that it was written in caps and the sentence structure did not seem coherent. It also lacked sources and citations (which would violate WP:OR), and the use of the word "wrongly" violates WP:NPOV (as that word always has a POV slant to it). Also, the last part was added in the wrong place -- sections of an article should NEVER go after the categories. You may re-enter that information, but please make sure that a) your additions are properly cited and supported by other sources (to maintain verifiability) and b) they are written in a coherent manner that would make sense to outsiders as well (i.e. NO CAPS). If you wish to emphasize a point, don't use caps; instead, try using italics (which can be done using ''these marks''. Thanks. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 17:04, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
No, I didn't write that entry about vandalizing. It was written by another user. I merely added a section heading (because s/he didn't have one and I didn't want it to be confused with my entry (re. the East Van maps). I also added the comment about the caps for the other user (not directed towards you). Hu Gadarn 17:17, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just realized that (edit conflict seconds ago while I was striking out my reply above). Thanks. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 17:19, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
The wiki entry on East Vancouver discusses the boundaries. Complicating this is that Ontario Street is the divide, which bisects two Vancouver communities. Hu Gadarn 17:21, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll take a look and see what I can come up with, if I find the time. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 17:24, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, I made one based on the information I found on that article. I had to use a combination of solid colors and dotted patterns, for neighborhoods that are only partially in East Van. Also, I added East Van to the {{VancouverNeighbourhoods}} template so more people can find this neat article. :) -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 03:49, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Did you read my theorem? From the Author of: Concepts of Modern Geometry. Unsigned comment from skishows
I'm not sure to what you refer. Can you provide me a link to where you think I removed your material? Also, please do not use my "user page" to post comments, use this ("discussion") page. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 18:07, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Barbarian
In the context of the article, barbarian is being used in the neutral manner, as correctly and commonly used by historians and contemporaries. It is also more accurate, as "goth" is a term with a lot of controversy over who the goths were and what made up the goths. Finally, the sentence only makes sense when talking about barbarians as a whole. -- Stbalbach 16:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 24.125.0.232
The user has not been warned since January 31, 2007, so I cannot block the user as of now. I have left a t4 warning, and if the user vandalizes again, I will block.
Also, you'll get a faster response (in a matter of minutes) if you submit your vandal reports to WP:AIV. Thanks, Nishkid64 21:30, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mickey Beyer Clausen
I have removed the {{db-spam}} template from Talk:Mickey Beyer Clausen, as the talk page was not the "target" for the speedy deletion template. If you wish to nominate an article for speedy deletion, you should add the notice to the article instead. AecisBrievenbus 00:46, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Adding Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Audrey Tang. Hu Gadarn 21:08, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please see my comments on Talk:Audrey Tang. I'm sure you felt strongly that the article's subject was not noteworthy, but in future perhaps a bit more discussion first would resolve your concerns? -Harmil 18:23, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] BLP edits to various articles
I'm letting you know that I've made serious and major edits to several articles relating to the Christian Brothers sex scandal, because these articles made unfounded and potentially libelous claims about living people. For example, Joseph Burke cannot, repeat cannot, be described as a "sex offender" because the sex offence convictions were overturned. These edits were undertaken to bring the articles into compliance with Wikipedia ethical standards and the biographies of living persons policy. Thank you. FCYTravis 22:07, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
