Howdtheyvote

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Howdtheyvote is a volunteer driven website that contains voting records of Canadian Members of Parliament obtained from the Hansard, the record of Canadian Parliament.

Howdtheyvote was created by Cory Horner of Kamloops, British Columbia. In July of 2005, Hampton Catlin joined the core development team.

Howdtheyvote is released under the GPL license and is listed on SourceForge (see links below). The site maintains non-partisan status by only accepting only donations from users and non-profit groups.

The website uses a PHP/MySQL front end and uses Perl to harvest the data from the Hansard website. Currently, a major re-working of the website is underway, including creating an internationalized database.
