Howard Transit

Howard Transit is the primary public transit system in Howard County, Maryland, which grew from the former ColumBus bus system in Columbia, Maryland. Veolia Transport is the operating company.
Howard Transit operates seven routes -- designated by color -- to various parts of the county and surrounding areas:
- Blue Route -- travels from Clarksville to Savage. This route operates on the weekdays only.
- Green Route -- travels through the villages of Wilde Lake and Hickory Ridge in Columbia.
- Red Route -- travels through the Village of Long Reach in Columbia.
- Red Express Route -- travels through the Village of Long Reach in Columbia and also goes to Maryland Wholesale Food Center in Jessup, Dorsey MARC rail station, Arundel Mills Mall, and BWI Airport.
- Yellow Route -- travels from the Mall in Columbia to Ellicott City.
- Brown Route -- travels from the Mall in Columbia through the villages of Hickory Ridge, Kings Contrivance, and Owen Brown in a loop.
- Purple Route -- travels from Elkridge to Laurel. This route also operates on the weekdays at very limited times.
