Howard J. Lamade Stadium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Howard J. Lamade Stadium is a baseball stadium in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Each year, it hosts the Little League World Series, one of the few sports events where children 12 years old(and under certain conditions, 13 year olds) and younger take the center stage. Lamade Stadium was built in 1959 and holds 40,000 people, most of whom sit on the hills in the outfield.
The stadium was changed in 1992 when lights were added so that night games could be played as part of expansion of the series to round robin play.
As part of technological changes in the sport, the fences were moved back 20 feet (6 meters), so the fences in 2006 are at 225 feet (68.5 meters).
