Howard C. Lawrence

Howard C. Lawrence was an American politician from the State of Michigan.

Howard Lawrence was born in Sebewa Township, Ionia County, Michigan, August 14, 1890. Resided in Ionia, Saginaw and Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was the son of Cyrus S. Lawrence and Margaret (Neidhardt) Lawrence. He married Clara Louise Luther on May 1, 1913 Lawrence was a banker and a business partner and executive secretary to Governor of Michigan, Fred W. Green. He was Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party from 1929-37. Became Michigan State Treasurer, 1931-32; defeated, 1932. He was a delegate to Republican National Convention from Michigan, 1936 (alternate), 1940. He was a Protestant and a member of Freemasons, Elks and Rotary.
