How to Good-Bye Depression

How to Good-Bye Depression: If You Constrict Anus 100 Times Everyday. Malarkey? or Effective Way? is a self-help book by Hiroyuki Nishigaki published by Writer's Showcase Press on August 1, 2000 (ISBN 0-595-09472-4). The book gained a small cult following. Between 2000 and 2002, the author discussed this book on a number of American radio talk shows.[citation needed] Despite this exposure, it is unclear whether there is any medical basis for the unique claims it makes.
In the book, the author, who claims to have attained an understanding of the human physical and spiritual condition along the lines of enlightenment pursued by such mystics as Carlos Castaneda and the alchemists of second-millennium Europe, presents a simple routine of daily Kegel exercises which he claims will cleanse the body of physical ills, clarify the mind, and calm the spirit.
The first half of the book consists of Usenet articles, wherein the formula below is repeatedly followed:
- Someone flames Mr. Nishigaki
- Mr. Nishigaki responds with strata of his anal constriction technique
The second half of the book dispenses with the Usenet articles and contains a narrative on anal constriction.
The entire book is written in fractured English.
