"How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" is a song originally recorded by Laura Branigan in 1983 (after Air Supply turned it down). The tune was the second single from Branigan's second solo album "Branigan 2" and reached #1 on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart and #11 on the U.S. Pop charts. Michael Bolton co-wrote the song, and it was has his first major hit as a songwriter. In 1990, Bolton recorded his own version of the song, and it hit Number One on the Billboard Hot 100.
