The Sims: House Party is the second expansion pack for the simulation game, The Sims.

[edit] New features

  • House Party gives players the ability to throw house parties, and invite large numbers of friends. The game considers any gathering of 4 or more visitors to be a party.
  • New party-related items, such as catering tables, dance floors, themed bars, turntables, costumes and fireplaces (where Sims can gather around and sing camp songs).
  • The games adds a number of new radio channels, such as Beach, Disco and Rave, increasing the range of music that the player can listen to in-game.
  • New Sim characters have been added to the game, including a number of gatecrashers that appear only during parties.
  • A wide range of costumes from togas to beachwear, which can be worn using the new costume trunk.
  • Players can buy a new item that looks like a giant cake that spawns an exotic dancer. The cake may backfire and instead spawn a gorilla, a clown boxer, or an Elvis boxer within the presence of children.

[edit] Trivia

  • Players who throw particularly large parties may be surprised to find Drew Carey arrive in his limousine.
  • When a Sim with six or more Charisma points tells a story around the bonfire during a party, a headless ghost may appear to frighten the listeners.
  • If a party flops, a mime may appear to lighten the mood. While he can help to cheer the crowd up, he's also been known to steal items from the house.
  • If the player hires a caterer for a party, the caterer can sometimes be found admiring the clothing in the new Costume Trunk (if one is present in the house).
