Houssine Kharja (in Arabic: حسين خرجة , born 9 November 1982 in Poissy) is a France born Moroccan football player. He is 181 cm tall and weighs 77 Kg.

Kharja started his career for Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, and he joined Ternana in 2001. He played four impressive Serie B seasons for the rossoverdi, gaining a place in the Morocco national football team, and being loaned to AS Roma in 2005. In Rome Kharja played 12 matches and scored one goal during a 1-1 draw against Juventus. At the end of the season 2005/2006, AS Roma decided to not extend Kharja's loan, so the Maroccan player had to go back to Ternana, but he refused this transfer because meanwhile the rossoverdi had been relegated to Serie C1, and the possibility to play in such a scarce league is excluded by Kharja and also (as he supposes) by his contract. Though Ternana considered him as his own player[1][2], FIFA's court decided that Kharja was a free player, and so, on 20 March 2007 he signed a three years contract with Serie B team Piacenza Calcio.[3]
