[edit] Members of House Courcel

Ganelon is the King of Terre d'Ange. Ganelon had one son, Rolande de la Courcel, who died young, and is succeeded by his grand-daughter, Ysandre de la Courcel. Ganelon dies during the Bitterest Winter, victim of a stroke.

Josephine is a long-dead queen, who had an affair with a player and had a secret passage built to connect the Queen's quarters with the theatre complex in the Palace.

Rolande is the deceased Dauphin of Terre d'Ange, only son of Ganelon, who was killed at Battle of the Three Princes.

Ysandre is the daughter of Prince Rolande and Isabel L'Envers, and is the reigning Queen of Terre d'Ange for most of the series.
