Houdoe is a Brabantian word which is used as a farewell phrase and probably comes from Houd oe eige goed (which translates as "take care").

In 2005 houdoe was voted most beautiful Brabantian word by readers of the newspapers Brabants Dagblad, Eindhovens Dagblad and BN/De Stem [1]
