Images
Please do not add Image:Teenchoiced.jpeg to the Paris Hilton article. That image is owned by wireimage, their copyright policy makes this an unfree image: "[images are] protected by intellectual property laws and which cannot be used or reproduced, in whole or part, without the prior written consent of the owners, or their authorized licensees, of such intellectual property."--Fallout boy 09:14, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- Image:Amaparis.jpg is also a wireimage photo. Please check the copyright status before uploading any images. Nearly all photos from award shows and premieres are unfree images that are owned by photo agencies that have strict regulations regarding their photos' use.--Fallout boy 07:20, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- AP images are unfree just like any other agency. You can read their copyright statement for yourself: "Images purchased for personal use may not be used commercially (in publications, brochures, advertisements, copies to sell, etc.) or reproduced for any use." If that image is indeed free to use, you need to provide a source url and a statement that allows it to be used freely. --Fallout boy 19:23, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Image:Gal artstreiber.jpeg may be usable in the Paris Hilton article but it needs to be properly sourced and attributed. Whenever you upload an image you need to provide a source url, and if the image is copyrighted you also need to give a fair use rationale. Also, do not label images as screenshots unless you can cite which film or TV show they are from, and the image must relate to the article.--Fallout boy 20:00, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
Regarding user talk pages
Just to inform you: erasing messages from other users on your talk page without replying to them can be considered hostile and uncivil. Extraordinary Machine 19:24, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- The Madonna (entertainer) article could do with a lot of trimming down, although not every article on a similar subject should be formatted exactly the same way anyway. Also, as I have already told you, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings) and Wikipedia:Guide_to_layout#Structure_of_the_article, "sections and subsections that are very short will make the article look cluttered and inhibit the flow". Extraordinary Machine 17:23, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
- You've rearranged and moved sections again (on Ashlee Simpson), so that the content of some of them is out of chronological order and makes little sense, without discussion on the article's talk page. I've provided links to the appropriate policy and guideline pages above, and I suggest that you read them. Also, your edits are still in violation of Wikipedia's Manual of Style; for example, "Early Life & Career" should actually be "Early life and career" (no ampersants and no capital letters for every word, except in special cases). Extraordinary Machine 18:20, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Jessnick.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Jessnick.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Agnte 10:41, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- I got the picture here: http://pub.tv2.no/TV2/underholdning/tv/article239711.ece it's free to use no need to delete it and there's no way I'll put a fake pics in the articles. --Hotwiki 12:26, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears
I have reverted your rearranging of the sections again. Please consult Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings) and Wikipedia:Guide_to_layout#Structure_of_the_article. I am not trying to prevent you from contributing to Wikipedia, but I must stress the importance of Wikipedia's Manual of Style, which all editors are expected to abide to. Extraordinary Machine 15:04, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Also, copyrighted "fair use" images should not be used as decoration on articles, and public domain or free license images (such as Image:Nick Lachey Jessica Simpson USO 210405.jpg) are always supposed to be used instead of copyrighted equivalents. See Wikipedia:Fair use. Extraordinary Machine 15:08, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
- Please do not keep undoing other people's edits without discussing them first. This is considered impolite and unproductive. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 15:14, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

- Stop trying to change the styles or arrangement ur being so selfish, everything is not like Ashlee simpson article which is very unorganized, I would not let you try to re-arrange the articles of all the artists u want with ur unorganized manual of your style with no any album pics, just ugly arrangement.--Hotwiki 15:16, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
-
-
- Please consult Wikipedia:Civility. I am not trying to be "selfish" or cause you distress, but Wikipedia's Manual of Style and Fair use guidelines are extremely important, and have arisen from the consensus of several past editors (and the latter from U.S. copyright law as well). If you do not agree with the guidelines, please leave a comment at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style and Wikipedia talk:Fair use, but do not engage in edit wars just because you prefer your own style of editing over Wikipedia's. Extraordinary Machine 15:25, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

- You could just look how neat the Madonna , Destiny's Child , Spice Girls articles and many articles I contributed and I re-arranged. ur so pain in my booty u ruined my so organized Jessica Simpson article grrr.--Hotwiki 15:37, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Well, why not take it to the article talk pages? A good way to deal with something like this is to pick one thing and focus on resolving that, then move on to the next. If you try to change a bunch of stuff at once, it becomes overwhelming and the dispute can get out of hand. Everyking 15:35, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Template:Album infobox colours
Hi. I notice that you have been changing colours in the album infoboxes. Please don't do this, as WP:ALBUM has a coding system for the infobox colours. Studio albums, compilations, live albums, etc. all have their own individual colour in the system. Changing them to a single editor's personal preference destroys this categorization. If you have any questions, please see WP:ALBUM for guidelines about album articles. Thanks. Jkelly 17:06, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Madonna discography
Hi. We have the problem at the Madonna article that it's too blown up. I think we shouldn't split the discography in 3 discographies now. It's more important to clear the articles and remove unnecessary parts and improve the quality. The album details can be found at the album main articles. --Red-Blue-White 14:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- Uh, ok--Hotwiki 14:59, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
I didn't finish the album table when I renewed the discography. It is necessary because the boxes were too big (I merged the first Discography with the album covers site). Single releases/information can be found at the singles chart table among. Additional album information is at the album articles - if you want to see the big album covers click on the small ones. Here's the original discography before I changed it. It didn't contained pictures. [1]. --Red-Blue-White 18:35, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- That's really cool, and oh could you delete the background colors of the tables just plane white.--Hotwiki 18:41, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
-
- I choose the color because the singles discography is very long and it is be hard to find chart positions without the colors (see the old version). It's a easier overview - and looks better. ;o) --Red-Blue-White 22:44, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Amazing Race edits
Hey, I've reverted your edits to the AR articles, b/c they don't really help with the flow of the article. The "sub-headings" are actually helpful for the articles since A) they allow readers to jump to a specific episode recap and B) it allows editors to make changes to a specific leg's details w/o, which is especially useful when the leg info is updated with each week's latest episode. The double column layout doesn't really work either, since it affects the picture layout and doesn't isolate potential spoiler details from unaired future legs. A similar format is used for shows like 'The Apprentice 4. Thanks --Madchester 10:19, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- I absolutely disagree with you, it helps maybe just for you too many sub-headings could make the article so bad just like what u did in the Amazing Race articles, episode recaps? ur kidding right all I saw is places and the small amazing race pics that shouldn't be included It's useless, if you're pointing out that is the pitstop, write pitstop and there's no detour list, no roadblocks list which I can put anytime I want so how can it be a episode recap.
Second, every legs don't contain any summary just list of places so there's no need to make it a sub-headline. The double column works, it makes the articles not so long and neat I know there's a way how to fix the layout of pic I just don't know how to do it right now. And the apprentice page well it's doesnt look as good as you think.--Hotwiki 10:48, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
-
- The format is also used for other season episode guides like List of Grey's Anatomy episodes', Episodes of Lost (Season 2) and Smallville (Season 5). The only difference on these pages from the Race pages is that the Table of Contents was removed for the last two. It makes a world of a difference in making weekly updates or specific edits from a particular episode. --Madchester 21:55, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Sugababes discography
A new user has added a huge amount of chart information to the Sugababes discography. I'm trying to restructure it a bit, but maybe you can try to stuff as well and see what works best. I tried to make a list of two singles and it's an improvement, but it still lacking clarity. KittenKlub 23:47, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the buzz, the article is now good I added a code so it wouldn't be so long.--Hotwiki 01:03, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Backstreet Boys Discography
Hey thanks for adding those images on the page but im sorry to say that the realese dates of the albums you added are wrong, their 1st US album was a combination of their 1st two non US discs. They have total 5 US and 6 worldwide albums. The List should have 6 albums, So please edit the page again. Thank You--50cent4 20:44, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

- Well, I just copied that discography from the BSB article, so all the informations there are not from mine except for the pics.--Hotwiki 03:46, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Britney Spears
This article has become a ridiculous fanpage with no references, and that is largely because of you. The version I've created keeps things simple, compiled and accurate -- but most improtantly, the data is all backed up with sources. Unless you can find an OFFICIAL website (not fanpage) to cite data for the worldwide sales figures of Britney's albums and/or singles, then they will be kept out of the article. Also, the reason for my removal of the singles chartbox is because it was unnecessary; there are links to the specific singles' articles on the page, where one can find all of the chart information they desire for that specific song by simply clicking on the link. Triggy 22:04, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- That article has become a ridiculous discography without any effort from you, The only thing you done is all reverting and deleting stuffs which is ridiculous. U made the discography so horrible, discography contains album chart w/ album pic, singles chart, and etc. U found it unnessary bcoz u just want to delete it, Singles chart box are necessary, it summarizes all the singles so u visitors don't have to go in every page just to know the chart positions. And almost all discographies have singles chart box, so there's no reason to delete it whenever u just want. --Hotwiki 11:46, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Okay, why do you keep reverting the album pics? They look and work better than the music video scenes. Triggy 20:28, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- Because, it's also the same pic I saw in almost all Britney Spears' articles. If you look at article of Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue and Madonna , it's doesnt contain album pics it have screenshots of musicvids and other stuffs which is better looking.--Hotwiki 11:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Em04.jpeg.
The Simple Life
Report me for keeping the page up-to-date, and tidy? Get over yourself please.
-
- you shut up!--Hotwiki 15:12, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Why do you keep deleting the latest news article I've added about Paris trying to put the project on hold? Are you keeping this page in your own way because of your ego? Or do you ACTUALLY care about providing the fans with the most up-to-date information?
Seriously, what is your problem? Most of your content is kept when I edit the page. I add the news, I tidy up some of the headings, and that's it. I remove the 3rd season episode titles because an episode guide could be put together on a seperate page.
I seriously don't understand what your problem is. You threaten to report me for keeping the page up-to-date? But *you* keep removing important information that I'm sure the fans would deem nesacery.
-
-
- First thing, Wikipedia is not a News site, second the headline "Season by season" should be just seasons, third episode guide should stay and cannot be in a separate page since the article is so short, fourth where the heck did you get "Till death do us part" it's just a fan thing.--Hotwiki 15:30, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
-
I understand Wiki is not a news site, but you're removing vital information on the shows' future.
"Till Death Do Us Part" is not a fan-name, it was announced by E! and was reported on several news websites.
Some examples: http://toronto.fashion-monitor.com/news.php/television/2005112901simple_life http://today.ccopinion.com/the-simple-lifes-new-home/
I accept that you want to keep the episode titles there, and you're right about simply making the header 'Seasons' too. Can you and I please work together on this rather then fighting about it?
I'd like to keep that news about Paris trying to halt the production there, as it may inhibit the show's future. Aswell as dubbing season 4: "Till Death Do Us Part", as it's the most official name we've gotten so far. Is this too much to ask?

Look at Me (Geri Halliwell song)
You must understand that Wikipedia has a policy called Wikipedia:Citing sources. This policy states the following:
This page is a style guide, describing how to write citations in articles. Providing sources for edits is mandated by Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Verifiability, which are policy. What this means is that any material that is challenged and has no source may be removed by any editor. See those pages and Wikipedia:Reliable sources for more information.
Citing sources serves several purposes:
- To ensure that the content of articles is credible and can be checked by any reader or editor.
- To enhance the overall credibility and authoritative character of Wikipedia.
- To show that your edit isn't original research.
- To reduce the likelihood of editorial disputes, or to resolve any that arise.
- To credit a source for providing useful information and to avoid claims of plagiarism.
- To provide more information or further reading.
When inline citations, notes, footnotes and references are not included in the article, it will not be possible for Look at Me (Geri Halliwell song) to become a featured article, as it would lack the criteria adhering to a substantial article. Therefore, please do not revert the references and citations provided at the bottom of the article. For another song that is currently being worked on to eventually become a featured article, see We Belong Together and the notes and references included in the article.
For the chart trajectory, I have recently discovered a template to place the numbers in. I'm going to insert the template into the article. Thank you! —Eternal Equinox | talk 14:32, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

-
- Second, Do you really know who wrote Look At Me, I have the album it's not only Geri, its Geri and the Absolute Boys (Watkins/Wilson) FYI!
- Third, you have to put the exact date! not just month/year
- Fourth, you don't have to put elsewhere
- Fifth, you don't have to put how many weeks on it's peak posiotion except for number-one
- Sixth, Fyi I'm the owner of this site [4]

- Eighth, Don't think that you know all about creating a good article.--Hotwiki 15:03, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

- It's funny that you still don't know everything at this site,
- First, would you stop copy/paste my replies in ur questions in my talk page to your talk page. You just want to make your talk page longer.
- Second, I don't undestand what your questions is?, if you're talking about the title of the image so what as long as the image is free to use.
-
- No, I do not copy and paste my questions and/or comments to my talk page so that it appears lengthier; I do this so that I do not forget what I had previously asked another user. I am talking about the image which is titled "06 02 08 03 1". Is there any specific reason why it is named this? If there is not, it should be moved to an article with a name that is more appropriate, such as "Sorry music video image" or "Madonna in Sorry". Otherwise, other users will not be aware of the link to the page because of its absurd title. Please respond on my talk page. —Eternal Equinox | talk 00:50, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Madonna Albums Discography
On the Albums discography for the artist you are not with a clear concensus. Should the albums be kept mixed with soundtracks and compilations (which contain the previously released songs only but have a good/average sales record). I proposed and edited the page to have three sections viz Albums, Compiations and Soundracks. I think this is a good idea. I have given the reason for the change. If you are interested in the topic please discuss. The other person reverting back the edits is giving reasons like it has been such so let it be. Well what I request you is to give reason appropriatly and help reach a concensus.Minor reason may better be discussed on the articles discussion page.Vivek 15:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

- Huh, fyi NOOB!, the Spice Girls' article is very poor itself not but my editing. FYI NOOB! I'm the only one who deleted all the uncessary sentences that is not needed since Wikipedia is not a news site and fan page, there's no need for over information and make it a fan-page. Thank you and oh read the rules first before you get blocked!--hottie 16:40, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for giving Spice Girls some much needed cleanup attention. There's still a ways to go with that article, but you've taken it a long way today. I'm really glad to see someone really taking it seriously. adavidw 05:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

- Huh I think you are just saying that because I don't agree with you in the Madonna's album discography?. and of course any images can be used in user pages because if not somebody already told me about that, not from a noob. Thanks--hottie 14:24, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

- No not because of Madonna's Albums Discography issue. I mean this was not personal. But yes because of Madonna discussion only I visited your page. Never mind, there are other free to distribute images also in wikipedia search a few. Or if I happen to come across I will let you know. As compensation. ;) Vivek 00:04, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Spice Girls again
I didn't mean to be hostile. But your edition is indeed poor. And starting to contribute with Wikipedia before me does NOT give you any right to erase my editions or those of someone else. Thank you for the attention.
