Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions do not assert the notability of their subjects and have been reverted or removed. [edit] Viva Hate (band)

At the time of deletion, the text of the article was: Viva Hate is a punk band formed by Geoff Kresge in summer of 2004. As there was no clear indication of what distinguishes this band from the thousands of other bands that are created each week around the world, the article was deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7 (Unremarkable people or groups). The standard tests for determining notability for a musical performer or group is located at WP:MUSIC. If you have additional information to help show how this group meets the musical notability guidelines please feel free to recreate the article, including the additional information during the recreation. --Allen3 talk 13:49, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I am not saying that the band is not deserving of an article. What I am saying is that the article as it stood did not provide enough information to keep it from failing CSD A7. Even adding the information from the second sentence of your last message to me would have been enough to establish a claim of notability. As noted above, you are free to recreate the article, just make sure you include enough information to show why this band is in some way notable. --Allen3 talk 14:08, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Mypic060123.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mypic060123.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stan 12:08, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Hdf banner1.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Hdf banner1.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:06, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Freaking Ewoks

Probably a button-pushing accident on my side, as I don't really know when they're set. I've always heard 1.5 ABY, though. Jon Hart 05:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Ta bio.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ta bio.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 04:19, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
