Hotwire.com is a discount travel site that offers low rates on airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, cruises and vacation packages by working with top travel suppliers to fill unsold rooms. Customers do not know the provider, location, or exact time of the purchased service until after committing to purchase with no possibility of changes or refunds. However, unlike the similar Name Your Own Price model used by Priceline.com, Hotwire shows prices and some other details up front. Based in San Francisco, Hotwire is an operating company of Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) an internet-based travel agency headquartered in Bellevue, Washington.
