[edit] Removal of AfD templates

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that removing an AfD template from an article, as you've done here and here, for example, is considered vandalism and may result in a block being imposed on your account. Please don't do it again - instead, add your comments to the appropriate deletion page. Thank you. Mindmatrix 18:50, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I haven't deleted anything (you can still read the article, right?), I have simply re-inserted the notices indicating that someone has nominated these articles for deletion. Read the notice, follow the links to the discussion (Dr. Grim and Backwoods terror), and add your comments as you see fit. The admin that closes those discussions will act according to the community consensus. Mindmatrix 21:21, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Keithhackney1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Keithhackney1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Keithhackney2.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Keithhackney2.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Keithhackney2.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Keithhackney2.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ×Meegs 10:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Danny Abaddi

Hi there. I see you recently tagged the Danny Abaddi article with an AfD template, but didn't follow through with making a page for it's entry. I have reverted your changes, if you want to submit it for AfD please read the steps to list an article for deletion. I would also recommend you read the guide to deletion as that article has little to no chance of actually being deleted, even if properly submitted for review. Furthermore, you erased the templates on Talk:Danny Abaddi when adding your comments, please be careful not to delete content when making edits. Thanks, VegaDark 23:53, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Backwoods Terror Skull Photo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Backwoods Terror Skull Photo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 15:49, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Further to the comments on my talk page, I have not nominated this image because it is copyrighted (although it is and is used on wikipedia under the fair use critiera) but because as a fair use image, it is not used in any articles and as such violates official policy at WP:FU, specifically item 7. Thanks.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 21:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Have a read of the policy, WP:FU, and you will see that there are legal ramifications to fair use images. If they are not being used in an article, the policy states they should be deleted. I also assume that the images were uploaded to be included in the Backwoods terror article, but that has been deleted. These deletion nominations are not speficially targeting you, they are to remove content that is in violation of policy. Many images have been nominated and are regularly removed from the servers.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 21:28, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 21:12, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

This image is nominated for the same reason as given above. The two images are orphans, used under a fair use licence and as such fair to meet wikipedia policy, WP:FU.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 21:14, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
