[edit] Info missing?

why is the info in [revision] not included in the current revision? -- Psi edit

I've read over both the revision you indicated and the current version I mostly wrote. The only facts that I can find to be absent are the open declaraton of Horus' plan to overthrow the Emperor, and the account of the battle between Horus and the Emperor.
For the former, I have no excuse, and I've incorporated it into the article. For the latter, I chose to gloss over it because I've found at least three blow-by-blow accounts of the duel, of which at least two appear to be canon, while the third I've been told was canon back in 2nd edition. Also, all but the final account is gleaned from 'pro-imperial' Codexes White D articles, and I have no access to any Chaos codexes, fluff-books, or the Visions art books. Each account I'd put together differed from the other in all but a few key facts: Sanguinius got topped, Horus died, and the Emperor was almost killed. If you can find 'the' official account and incorporate it, I'm not going to stop you. This is Wikipedia after all.
If there's anything else you think should be included, feel free to add it yourself or bring it up with me on my talk page. Saberwyn 03:39, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image of Characters

As Warhammer characters are often featured in comics and video games, their image should be considered okay for use on wikipedia as long as it is low-res. True or False? --Ancalagon06 15:58, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

If nothing else, every fair use image on Wikipedia needs a detailed fair use rationale adding to the image description page, as described at Wikipedia:Image description page#Fair use rationale. Remember that there are no general rules for fair use: everything must be considered on a case-by-case basis. For example, it would not be fair use to use an image if it were likely to cause a financial loss to the copyright holder of the image, even if it is a low resolution image. That said, I think the use of an image of Horus on this page is probably OK. Cheers --Pak21 16:08, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
I've added to the image page the stipulations required by Games Workshop on their page that allows for third party use of their IP. --Ancalagon06 16:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, those conditions are not acceptable for Wikipedia as they forbid commercial use. --Pak21 16:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia is a non-profit orginization, so it's not for-commercial-use. --Ancalagon06 16:52, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
You need to re-read Wikipedia:Image use policy. Policy explicitly forbids non-commercial use only. --Pak21 22:03, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
