Portal talk:Horror
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The new portal looks good! It could stand to be a little more international, but perhaps there is a shortage of articles about foreign horror topics. Шизомби 19:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm glad you like the portal. And I agree; international topics should be covered. There are some in the category list, but it could use work. The articles I chose as the "selected articles" or whatever were chosen because I think they're good quality and I didn't want the portal to have red links. We should come up with a way to nominate selected articles in the future. --Myles Long 23:05, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- I set up archives for the "selected" sections, copying the format used by Portal:Christianity (which is a WP:FPORT, something we should strive for. Along with the archives, there are "nomination" links for suggesting future "selected" articles. In general, those articles should meet the WP:FA (or at least WP:GA criteria; or WP:FP for pictures), I think. Hopefully we'll have more of those in the near future.--Myles Long 18:34, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Category:Corporeal undead might be a good one to add. It isn't specifically about corporeal undead in fiction (not sure if that is a requirement for inclusion), but most of the articles in it do have sections about fiction. Шизомби 01:03, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- I added that category, good find. I also added a few others. --Myles Long 19:36, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use image
I removed the movie poster image in the horror-related article of the month section, as it was a violation of Wikipedia's fair use policy. Please remember that fair use images can only be used in the article name space (the main page though is an exception)--☆TBC☆ (aka Tree Biting Conspiracy) 09:13, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use images
I removed both the image of the Night of the Living Dead poster, as well as the image of Alfred Hitchcock, as they are violations of Wikipedia's fair use policy. Again, please remember that fair use images can only be used in the article main spaces (the main page though is an exception).--TBCTaLk?!? 08:12, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
