Horry Telephone Cooperative (HTC) is the nation's largest telephone cooperative. It was established in 1954 to serve the rural areas of Horry County, South Carolina where it was cost prohibitive for national telephone companies to bring service. The cooperative has expanded beyond traditional telephone service to offer cable television service, dial-up internet access, broadband internet under the HTC NetRacer moniker, mobile phones under the HTC Horizon mokier, and home integration.
