Hornsey railway station is in the London Borough of Haringey in north London, and is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station, and all trains serving it, is operated by First Capital Connect. Hornsey depot is situated next to the station.
The station should not be confused with Hornsea, which is in the East Riding of Yorkshire, although that town does not have a railway station.
Turnpike Lane tube station is a short distance away, although not recognised as an interchange on one ticket.
The service from the station runs to Moorgate on weekdays until about 10.00pm, and into London King's Cross after 10.00pm Mondays to Fridays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Normally the service uses class 313 EMUs, as these are the only units cleared to Moorgate, although on weekends sometimes class 317 EMUs are used instead.
The typical off-peak service is:
- 6tph (trains per hour) to Moorgate
- 3tph to Welwyn Garden City, via Potters Bar
- 3tph to Hertford North, with 1tph extended to Letchworth Garden City via Stevenage
