Osmia cornifrons (Radoszkowski, 1887) |
The hornfaced bee (Osmia cornifrons) has been used commercially for several decades in Japan to pollinate apples, as it is now in the US. A single hornfaced bee can visit 15 flowers in a minute. This solitary bee nests in reeds, tubes and holes in wood.
