Reinhold Glière's Concerto for Horn and Orchestra in B, Op.91 was composed in 1951 for the Russian hornist Valery Polekh and premiered on May 10, 1951 in Leningrad (renamed St. Petersburg) with the Leningrad Radio Symphony Orchestra by said hornist. Despite being composed in the 1950s, it is written in a neoclassical style with strong Romantic influences. It is one of the major works in the horn repertoire.
