Horizontal transmission

Horizontal transmission refers to transmission of an infection, whether bacterial, fungal or viral, between members of the same social group that are not in a parent-child relationship.
There are two types of Horizontal transmission. Anterior Station and Posterior Station.
Anterior Station transmission refers to transmission via the bite of an infected organism.Examples are Malaria, Dengue Fever. Posterior Station Transmission refers to transmission via contact with infected feces. Examples are Italic textrickettsiae which is contracted by a body louses fecal material, when an individual scratches themselves allowing the fecal material to enter the blood.
