"Hope" is a 1998 song by R.E.M., from the album Up.

Like some of the other songs on the album Up, it is driven by synthesizers instead of guitars. Lyrically, it involves someone who is about to undergo surgery.

Leonard Cohen was also given a songwriting credit on "Hope", due to some musical similarities to his song Suzanne.
