Years ago, I was looking for information on a particular topic and I did so on Wikipedia. (See? I even knew the value of Wikipedia back then.) Of course, it was much to my dismay that I found the page I was looking for had been vandalised, and I had to turn to other sites for information. This didn't harm my research, and it didn't harm Wikipedia, but it made a bad first impression for me.

Now, years later, one of my few goals on Wikipedia is to revert the same type of vandalism. Or rather, to keep it at bay, because there's no way to stop vandalism short of protecting all pages. All one can do is fight it to a draw. I wish I had the administrator's revert capability, but I don't advocate everyone having it; it's too easily abused. Therefore, I have the usual tools to emulate it, which are good when placed in the hands of an experienced user (It's hard to install them if you're not.)

I wish I had the administrator's revert capability (as for some reason godmode-light really does not like me most places I go), but I don't and that's that. I might put in an RfA someday, but those are judged rather cynically. I'll keep on with godmode-light for right now.  :P

I am also a huge WikiGnome. My other few goals are to fix up typos because I'm just an insane copy editor like that (I even did it professionally once), fix all bad links (I'm trying to destroy the http2 backlog), and fixing links to disambiguation pages. I also clean up pages for the Wikipedia Cleanup Taskforce; you can view my desk here, as it says above.

I also like to translate pages from German into English; so I check WP:PNT and Wikipedia:German-English translation requests frequently. If you want to assign an article to me, you can do so informally just by leaving me a message. I check them frequently.
