Talk:Hong Kong Wetland Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The review here is based on my experience on this past Sunday, June 25 2006. Your experience should be a lot better on a weekday. The HK Wetland Park is a worthwhile trip if you like to:
1) meet a park full of people, like in Causeway Bay or a busy shopping mall.
2) look at grass that was stepped all over by selfish visitors.
3) Be rushed and pushed by the crowd, as in other parts of HK. A true honour to get the prize of being the rudest city.
4) be roasted under the relentless sun and heat during the summer. Months of June to September are very very hot outdoors in Hong Kong.
5) inhale second hand smoke. Smokers in HK like to share. Most of the cigarettes is for others and those downwind to enjoy. The smokers themselves only take a few sips, so as to have enough for others. Very generous indeed.
6) witness visitors to actually collect items from the park - stones, for example.
There is no bird, except 2 tiny ones. The crowd and noise just scared all wildlife away. What is left is a few buildings packed with people. The visitor accessible area looks just like another park, with a few ponds around. Residential buildings fill the sky on one side relatively close by. Same entrance and exit for the bird watching house and parking lot. Resulting in very crowd hallways and stairs at the bird watching house and a packed parking lot. My conclusion on visiting this park on weekend and holiday - DO NOT go, it is not worth it. Go to Hong Kong Park in Central/Admiralty instead.
The rating of it is 2 thumbs down. In Chinese, that is 2 hammers. ๅ ฉๅ้ไป
