Honeydew is Cucumis melo with 12 pairs of Chromosomes. Watermelons is Citrullus lanatus with 11 pairs of chromosomes. This cross is not possible and is an urban legend much like a cross between a human and a chimpanzee. Please delete this page.--The.v.tt 02:57, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

The page was created by User:Jbtucker edits (talk) and describes Jon Tucker's creation. This makes it WP:original research, at best. Hu 03:07, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VFD please?

Could somebody just VFD this? I see that an admin who has issues with deletion removed the intial proposal. While I agree that too much deletion goes on in Wikipedia (one of the big reasons I left) it's really just overcompensation to try to keep articles like this.

I do not think that the factual dispute tags will accomplish anything. If there's actually an urban legend surrounding it, an article on that would be interesting. Somehow, though, I think that the original author made this up out of whole cloth--one of those things to see how long a nonsensical article can stay in Wikipedia --71.192.117.127 22:45, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
