Honkarakenne

Honkarakenne (Helsinki Stock Exchange: HON) is a Finnish company that manufactures log homes.

As of 2005, Honkarakenne employed about 350 people, most of them working in Finland where the company has four factories. Honkarakenne also has a world-wide distribution channel and several sales offices abroad. Major exports of products are to U.S., Germany, and Japan.

Albeit a publicly listed company, large chunks of Honkarakenne common stock are owned by members of the Saarelainen family, who started the company back in 1960s. A long-time Chairman of the Board of Directors is Martti Saarelainen.
