A 1985 Honda Spree |
The Honda Spree was a small 49cc motor scooter made by Honda in the mid 80's. The best-selling scooter in history, it was the first "modern" scooter, rejecting the standard design of scooters which at the time looked like small bicycles. Honda marketed three different models based on the Spree's design. In most states it was legally classified as a moped and could reach a top speed of roughly 30 mph.
[edit] Model Year Changes
1985 |
For 1985, the Spree logo changed from a smaller italic font to a larger cursive font. The white exterior color was replaced with black. The spree also gets a kick-starter where previous models only had electric start. The Spree logo was changed to a cursive look with a long tailed S |
1986 |
The white color was back, black discontinued. A limited edition green was also offered for this model year. The Spree logo changed again to a easier to read cursive version. |
1987 |
Black color returned as well as a blue. The dash, front signal lamps and tail lamps were redesigned to a more aerodynamic shape. |
