Homegrown

Homegrown may mean one of the following:

  • For the 1998 movie starring Billy Bob Thornton, see Homegrown.
  • For the unreleased 1975 album by Neil Young, see Homegrown.
  • Homegrown is used sometimes to describe those individuals who generally tend to be conservative and who tend to have a fond, and sometimes deep-seated, appreciation for family value structures, traditions, and culture.
  • Homegrown is also slang for cannabis that is grown at a persons' residence. In the 1960s and 1970s the term was slightly derogatory in that most homegrown was of rather low quality. In recent times, especially with the advent of hydroponic cultivation, homegrown is now considered to be of exceptionally high quality.
  • Homegrown was a term for songs about the San Diego, California area, written and performed by local San Diego bands in the 1970s.
  • Homegrown Motorsports: A group of 'do-it-yourself' automobile enthusiasts located primarily in the Northern Virginia area and known for producing cars of superior taste, style and performance.
