Holy Trinity Catholic High School is one of the newest Roman Catholic high schools in Ontario. The high school is located in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. Wearing school uniforms during school hours is mandatory, like in most Catholic schools, and courses deal in a theological manner. Despite popular opinion, the school has always allowed the attendance of Catholic and non-Catholic alike, to take part in an advanced learning institution.

[edit] Technology

Holy Trinity has been at the leading edge of technology in Canadian high schools since its opening. The technology department at Holy Trinity consists of Communication, Construction, Cosmetology, Design/Drafting, Manufacturing, and Transportation. Some of the cutting-edge technology includes:

[edit] Athletics

The name of their various school athletic teams is the Holy Trinity Titans. Titan teams include swimming, soccer, rugby, track and field, badminton, tug-o-war, golf, basketball and rowing. Holy Trinity has an excellent reputation for Athletics and is well-despised by competing schools.

Holy Trinity has become so popular since its opening in September 2001 that an addition will be built on the South side of the school to be ready for September 2007. The school was built for less than 1000 students and the current enrolment has well exceeded that capacity. The addition will consist of nine classrooms added to the southwest corner of the school[3] including a food services classroom and conference room. The addition is required because the school had overcrowded hallways and twelve portables in September 2006. John Burroughs, the principal, expects that enrolment will peak in the next few years. Some reasons for the higher than expected enrolment at Holy Trinity since its opening are state-of-the-art technology equipment, excellent athletic facilities/equipment and the fact that it is the only Catholic high school in the county and surrounding area.

As well, Holy Trinity is working to get in on the local tradition of high school football. They are currently fundraising to work up enough money to buy football equipment. Many in the community are displeased (to say the least) to see more money being poured into Holy Trinity, when other schools are falling apart. To rub salt in the wound, they are also asking the community for money so they can try and beat the other high schools at one more sport.
