Holy Knights is an Italian power metal band formed in 1998. They recorded a demo at the Blu Studio in Palermo under the name of Gate Through the Past. The critics' response was favourable, which allowed the band to sign with the Underground Symphony label. Federico Madonia, a guitarist and Sly Raven, a bassist, were added to the band. In November 2000, they entered the Zenith Studios in Lucca to record their first album Gate Through the Past. The album was mastered at the Finnvox Studios in the beginning of 2001. The first album was finally put on sale in 2002. Thereafter, they started to work on a second album.
