Holy Cross College Ryde

Holy Cross College is a Sydney, Australia high school in the suburb of Ryde, opened by the Patrician Brothers in 1890. Holy Cross maintains extensive sporting facilities, including the Frank St. Oval and Cressy Road oval.

The school's library, Cardinal Gilroy Library is one the oldest and best resourced school libraries in Australia. There in Internet on 27 workstations, and approximately 27,000 books. All students have electronically read I.D. cards, allowing them to print and photocopy. The Library is most widely used by both students and staff for its internet access.

The music department in A Block has one band room and a piano room which are available for use. The band room has a drumkit, keyboard, an acoustic bass, acoustic and electric guitars, none of which work very well.

From 1994 to early 2003, the school has labeled itself the "College of Lifestyle Technology", maintaining the popular TEC Program, whereby students receive laptops for $3,000.00. and are often emailed work electronically, through Myclasses. The TEC laptop program runs from years 7 to 8, although students may still bring their laptop to class in later years.

<references The laptops provided suck ass (and probably balls too). They are overpriced, and within one year the only way you can use them is if they are constantly plugged into a powerpoint, which is not always possible in a classroom.
