[edit] Campus Ministry
Among the most vibrant programs of the college is their Campus Ministry program. Billing itself as "Distinctively Catholic, Open to All" [1] Campus Ministry offers all sorts of opportunities for spiritual growth in a Catholic setting. Central to campus spirituality is the Eucharist. Mass is offered on weekdays at 12:25 p.m. and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. GLORY is a Eucharistic Praise and Worship Holy Hour that precedes regular Eucharistic Adoration [2] on Tuesday nights.
The Mission Team is a faith development program where students grow in their faith and are supported by other students in living a moral and healthy lifestyle according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. [3] The Mission Team had over 32 students participate in 06-07. Tuition discounts are available for participants in order to eliminate the need to work which might be an obstacle to participation.
[edit] Growth on campus
The College will break ground on a new recreation center[4] in April of 2007 (Fall). This building is being promoted by a sign that faces north and south on State Road 933 North (Dixie Way, U.S. 31, Michigan) that reads "Here we grow again."
[edit] Majors/studies
Each student completes the same multidisciplinary core of courses, and then electives can be taken that will allow each student to gain knowledge and experience in areas of choice. The major area is liberal studies. In addition, students may elect to complete an optional academic concentration in several areas, including business and economics, information systems, literature, prelaw, psychology, and theology. Students have a major advisor, and those pursuing optional academic concentrations have a co-advisor.[5]
In addition to the liberal arts degree, Holy Cross now offers majors in Theology and Education.
[edit] Housing
Holy Cross has five residence halls for students. Pulte Hall and South Hall are apartment style housing. Although both buildings are mixed gender, the individual apartments are single gender. Anselm Hall and Basil Hall are male dorms. James Hall houses females.
[edit] Financial aid
Holy Cross accepts many forms of financial aid in the form of: Federal Perkins Loan, Pell Grants, State Grants as well as offered scholastic scholarships.
[edit] Sports
[edit] Intercollegiate lacrosse
To join the Holy Cross Lacrosse Club no experience is necessary, "just a good work ethic and coachability". The Lacrosse Saints are open to students of Holy Cross College and Notre Dame. Open try-outs are at the beginning of the Spring Semester.
[edit] Soccer
Holy Cross Club Soccer is looking to eventually expand to outdoor on their brand-new fields in the near future. The Soccer Saints are open to men and women and have open try-outs at the beginning of each semester.
[edit] Flag Football
A recent, but very popular among the male community, addition to the sports activities.
