[edit] History

Holmview came into existence as part of the electrification and upgrade of the Kingston - Beenleigh segment of line, along with Edens Landing. It was the temporary Beenleigh Station during the excavation of the cuttings and tunnels in the centre of Beenleigh and relocation of the station to the east side of the roundabout. The temporary platform was redeveloped after the opening of the new Beenleigh Station, and named Holmview.

It is around one hundred metres south of the older platformless stop Holm's Halt, named for the pioneering Holm family. Holm's Halt was still in use for detraining but not passenger pick-up as recently as 1983 (mostly by members of the Holm family). This practice was discontinued with electrification and the end of Rail Motor services, as QR suburban electric trains are unsuited to discharging passengers at platformless stops.
