Holly Grainger (born 1988 in Didsbury, Manchester, England) is an English actress best known for playing Megan Boothe in Where the Heart Is.

Grainger is the daughter of Irish actor Gawn Grainger. After achieving three A*s and eight As in her GCSEs, and two As and two Bs in her A-levels, she has recently started studying for an English degree at the University of Leeds.[1]

Holly also attended The Madeley School Of Dance in Didsbury completeing many examinations under the NATD examination board and her last role was playing Tinkerbell in the ballet Peter Pan.

She first started acting in 1994 in All Quiet on the Preston Front and went on to appear in the TV series Roger and the Rottentrolls (1996), and Daddy Fox (2000) as well as having minor roles in the dramas Casualty (2000), Doctors (2001), Dalziel and Pascoe (2001), The Royal (2003), No Angels (2005) and most recently, Waterloo Road (2007).

She also appeared in the TV dramas The Missing Postman (1997), Sparkhouse (2002), and The Illustrated Mum (2003).

In 2003, she landed the role of Megan Boothe in Where the Heart Is. She left the role in 2005 and the character was played by Holly Lucas in the 2006 series.

She has most recently appeared in a TV adaptation of Johnny and the Bomb (2006), and in the 2007 ITV1 production of The Bad Mother's Handbook based on the best-selling novel. She will next be seen in the new series of New Street Law.
