Hollenthon is an Austrian symphonic black/death metal band formed in 1994 by Martin Schirenc of death metal band Pungent Stench. Hollenthon evolved from an Austrian Black Metal Syndicate project Vuzem. After Vuzem's first self-produced compilation, Norici Obscura Pars, was released, Schirenc decided to release full-length album, and in 1998, he signed the band, renamed Hollenthon, to Napalm Records.[1] Hollenthon's work is influenced by a variety of classical music, such as that of Wagner. Vocals range from harsh to male operatic and even to female (performed by Martin's wife Elena). Both of their albums have been highly regarded by fans and magazines alike. Currently, Hollenthon are working on a new studio album.[2]
