Holland's Next Top Model is a Dutch reality television show which pits contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win a modeling contract with Max Models. Supermodel Yfke Sturm hosts the show, which is based on the top-rating series America's Next Top Model created and co-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks.
The debut season of the show premiered on the RTL5 network in September 2006. On it, 10 female contestants were placed in an Amsterdam apartment. Spanning a wide variety of women of various races, heights and body sizes, they had been whittled down from a pool of thousands to compete against one another in various contests designed to simulate the extreme demands placed on professional models. Each week one contestant was eliminated by a panel of judges: Yfke Sturm herself, photographer Carli Hermès, Rosalie van Bremen and Karin Swerink publisher of Glamour Magazine. Coaches are Ruud van der Peijl who's the 'King of Style' and Dominique Samuel, make up artist.
In cycle 2, New York model and runway coach Mariana Verkerk, who was a guest juror in HNTM 1 will join the permanent jury and make up artist, Dominique Samuel, will be replaced by Hildo Groen, beauty expert of L'Oreal Paris.
