"Holiday Knights" is the first episode of the first season of The New Batman Adventures.

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn go on a Christmas shopping spree, with a kidnapped Bruce Wayne.

Renee Montoya and Harvey Bullock go undercover to find thieves during the hectic Christmas shopping season.

Joker holds the city hostages during New Year's Eve.

Batman and Commissioner Gordon engage in an annual tradition of New Year's coffee together.

This episode is a direct adaptation (with minor alterations for pacing) of the Batman Adventures Holiday Special. The vignette featuring Mr. Freeze was not included in the televised adaptation.

Timm appeared in the episode of The New Batman Adventures, "Holiday Knights" - left to right are Bruce Timm, Glen Murakami and Shane Glines.

Bruce Timm, creator and producer of The New Batman Adventures appears (as well as nearly every other show in the DCAU^{[citation needed]}) in animated form, along with Glen Murakami and Shane Glines.
This episode takes place some time after Growing Pains, due to Tim Drake already being Robin (he "debuts" in the next episode), and Clayface's unexplained appearance (Growing Pains explicitly picks up after Mudslide).
If one looks carefully in the sequence with Harley and Ivy, they have only one bed in their apartment, which is very small with two pillows near to each other.
