Holden Premier
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Holden Premier was a large family sedan manufactured by General Motors–Holden's Ltd. of Australia. It was an upmarket version of, initially, the Holden Standard and Special from 1963 to 1967, and from 1968, the Holden Belmont and Kingswood. It was cancelled in 1978 as Holden rationalized its full-size car range with the advent of its smaller Commodore model.
An export version of the Premier was the Mazda Roadpacer. Holden shipped bodyshells without engines to Japan, and Mazda fitted its rotary unit into the engine bay. However, this model came after the 1973 fuel crisis and was not a success.
Generally, Australian Premiers were fitted with 307 in³, and later 5·0 L, V8 engines.
