Holby Ambulance Service

Holby Ambulance Service is the name of the fictional ambulance service which works alongside staff at Holby City Hospital- including appearing on the two hospital dramas Casualty and Holby City.

The uniforms and vehicles used on the shows derive from the Avon Ambulance Service (now Great Western Ambulance Service), which serves Bristol where Casualty is filmed and which has paramedic advisors working on the show. Although the ambulances may look genuine, they would not be of much use in a real emergency. The main vehicles used on Casualty are the Chevrolet and Ford Transit ambulances, as well as a paramedic motorbike and Rapid Response car from time to time. All the uniforms and vehicles bear the Holby Ambulance crest, and lettering and look very authentic. The ambulance station seen sometimes on Casualty is the main ambulance station in Bristol.
