Holbrook, Suffolk

Holbrook is a rural village situated close to the northern shore of the Stour Estuary. To the south of the village is the Royal Hospital School (RHS) which moved to this site in 1933 after having been housed at Greenwich Hospital since 1693. Holbrooks football team "AFC Holbrook" has enjoyed much success in recent years, building a proud reputation across the penninsula. The team play their home games at reade field, situated in the middle of the village, behind the Swan pub. Stand out members of the community include Dr S. & Mrs A. Dineen, Mr B. & Mrs P. Parrott, Rick and Jane from the Compasses, Gubby and Tom "deuces bigalow" Brown. ,

The village has two pubs, the Compases and the Swan, a Co-op and a newsagents as well as a hairdressers, a tea shop and a village hall. There is both a primary and secondary school. Opposite the Co-op is Holbrook Methodist Church and going out of the village towards the RHS is the church, All Saints.
