[edit] Hok

Hok is a small village in Vaggeryd Municipality in Jönköping County in Sweden.

The old name Hook is only used in formal context. Hok is known all over Sweden for Hook's Manison, a golf-hotel situated by a lake and the beautiful 18-hole golf course surrounded by forest.

During 1950 there was one hardware store, two small supermarkets, two cafés and two gas-stations. During later years a pizzeria, post-office and bank-filial have been built. However, today (2007) only a small café/supermarket, pizzeria and a new built gas-station remains.

Despite its low population - 700 people - Hok manages to keep a soccer-team which is situated at Lindevallen also famous for having one of the finest soccer courts in Småland. Hok lies has a recently constructed train station since it is situated on the railroad between Nässjö and Halmstad, and was once an important station in the manufacturing process of Swedish iron from Taberg. There is also a school in Hok for children between 6-13.

Hok was once the home-town of actress Lena-Pia Bernhardsson, who is known for participation in the famous TV-series Rederiet. This is also the home-town of rock-band Scissorborough.
