Hohenbergiopsis is so named (From the genus “Hohenbergia” and the Greek “opsis” (resembling)) because it resembles the genus Hohenbergia, which is named for Hohenberg, a prince of Wurtenburg (now part of Germany) and a patron of botany[1]. It is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Bromelioideae.
