Why Platform 9 3/4 as opposed to 9 1/2? Did JKR just think 9 3/4 was funnier???

Three quarters certainly sounds funnier than a half don't you think? :-) Evercat 00:38 2 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Any chance that they will replace the old Hogwarts Express with a new Maglev high-speed train? Thomas Lewis 21:26 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I think that is unlikely for two reasons: Firstly, replacing all the lines with maglev track would be too expensive for the ministry, and secondly, as Hermione will tell you, electronic devices don't work in areas of high magic (such as platform 3/4 ?). Even switching to a diesel electric or electric train would cause problems. --njh 23:22, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Anyway, I heard that in book seven it’s franchised to First Hograil. :-) David Arthur 20:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Purple colour?

Looks red to me. LMS red, by the look of things. Where did the "Purple" come from? —Morven 23:41, Apr 28, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Are there any other magical train services in HP world?

Considering that most magical folk can move with portkeys and apparation is there any other train services in the HP world? Are there any other magical platforms? --njh 23:17, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
